London Marathon 2010 ResultsThe London Marathon 2010 results are coming in as the race is coming to a close today, Sunday April 25th. The winner of the men’s race is Tsegaye Kebede of Ethiopia in a time of 2:05:18 with Kenyan Emmanuel Mutai coming in second nearly one minute behind. Over on the women’s side Russian Liliya Shobukhova won with a time of 2:22:00 followed by Inga Abotova also of Russia. Britain’s BBC network has full coverage of the race.
The race has been in existence since 1981, and this year is sponsored by Virgin Money, which is part of the Virgin Group. The marathon is one of the top five international marathons along with Chicago, Boston, New York, and Berlin. Similar to those other races the London Marathon is just over 26 miles in length. The London Marathon 2010 results will continue to come in as over 36,000 runners participated.
The London Marathon 2010 results for the wheelchair athletes are also available. Japan’s Wakako Tsuchida was victorious in the women’s while Canada’s Josh Cassidy won the men’s. The London Marathon also had a few celebrities participating this year. Chef Gordon Ramsay, Princess Beatrice and singer Natalie Imbruglia all entered the 26 mile run, all in hopes of raising money for charity
