Brett Favre is considering an operation to treat a left ankle injury since the NFC Championship the Vikings defeated the Saints in January.
Vikings say they are willing to wait until training camp for Favre, 40, in order to decide whether to play a 20th season.
Favre had surgery last off-season in the biceps muscle in his right shoulder. This procedure is carried out by Andrews.
Last week, former NFL coach Tony Dungy and Steve Mariucci have both said they had spoken with Favre recently and that the QB had to deal with constant pain before able to commit to a new season
